“Night Drive” by Pool Shop

A Shadow was released on July 31st of 2020 to little fanfare- which is a sin.

“Night Drive” is the third track from the record and my favorite. As the title and lyrics suggest, it’s just the perfect escape downstate in the cool of night.

Guitarist and singer/songwriter Jaimee Fryer has been releasing some fantastic pop since 2013, and she still has not received the attention she rightly deserves. I hope her and her bandmates continue to find the time to release these wonderful little shimmery songwriting gems.

I’ve been a fan of Brentford FC ever since I saw them with one of my best friends in 1995 at Griffin Park. What happened yesterday was just a magical moment for a club that continues to defy the odds.

Come on you Bees!

“The Nightmare Continues” by Discharge

It’s been forty years since Discharge’s debut album Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing was released, and it sounds just as loud, raw, and powerful as anything that has been released ever since.

Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing was released in May of 1982 on Clay records and unlike their first five EP’s, it broke the mold both sonically and stylistically, bridging the gap between hardcore punk and metal.

Discharge is credited as one of the most influential groups in extreme music and for good reason, their work has never compromised and let’s hope “The Nightmare Continues” as they tour throughout the world this year.
